Meet Dr. Sierk

Dr. Chris Sierk was raised in Bettendorf, Iowa, and is the oldest of three brothers. His mother Pat and father Don, also an orthodontist, were major influences in shaping Dr. Sierk's passion for a career in orthodontics as well as the careers of both brothers. Jon is a pediatric dentist in Denver, Colorado, and Alex, an orthodontist, joined Don in practice in Iowa in 2007.

Dr. Sierk spent countless summers at his father's practice learning the basics of the specialty and what it took for Don to run a successful practice. Orthodontics provided for Don an avenue to have a genuinely positive influence in the lives of his patients, while balancing this with a rewarding family life. Dr. Sierk was impressed with the warm greetings that patients gave Don in the community, a

reminder of the difference Don had made in their lives. Armed with this background Dr. Sierk was set to make his dream of becoming an orthodontist a reality.

Dr. Sierk graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois in 1992, and immediately moved back to Iowa to attend the prestigious University of Iowa College of Dentistry. Upon graduation from Iowa in 1996, he moved to Portland and spent the next two years as a faculty member at the Oregon Health Sciences University and in private dental practice. In 1998 Dr. Sierk began his residency program at OHSU, graduating in 2000 with a specialty degree in orthodontics. Dr. Sierk purchased his existing practice in Tigard in June of that year, and unveiled the West Linn practice seven years later, in March of 2007.

Dr. Sierk has been an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association and the Oregon Dental Association for his entire practice career.

Dr. Sierk has enjoyed the continual support of his wife Polly, whom he married in 1994, and his two children Jack, born in 1997, and Elsa, in 2000.  Jack attends the University of Alabama where he is majoring in pre-dental.  They have made it possible for him to pursue his passion, while remaining grounded and remembering what truly is important. Polly and Dr. Sierk are active in Jack and Elsa's education and extracurricular interests. As a family they enjoy all sports together, but especially Iowa Hawkeye football, St. Louis Cardinals baseball, and golf.
